What Should We know about Peri-implant disease? Diagnosis and treatment strategies

Peri-implant diseases lead to peri-implant bone loss, compromising implant outcomes in both function and esthetics. As a multiple-factor disease, peri-implantitis becomes a great challenge in identifying the etiologic factors and the following treatments. Several strategies have been introduced in the treatment of peri-implantitis, including non-surgical and surgical approaches. Multiple factors may affect the treatment outcomes and predictability. This presentation will include current understandings of etiology factors, treatment strategies of peri-implant diseases, and factors affecting treatment success.

Educational Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

• Diagnose peri-implant diseases, including peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis
• Understand etiology and contributing factors of peri-implant diseases
• Provide treatment strategies of peri-implant diseases, including the pros/cons and indications

A registration refund, less a $15 fee, will be issued for cancellations received by Thursday, February 8, 2024. Registration will remain open, however, when registering after Thursday, February 8, 2024, NO REFUNDS will be accepted. Cancellations must be received in email to cde@dentistry.unc.edu The cancellation request must include: the name of the course, name of the person registered, name of the person requesting the cancellation, and the reason for the cancellation.
