TMJ Disorders for the General Dentist | Part II

Synopsis

This course offers a 2-part presentation intended to introduce dentists to the basics of the group of disorders known as Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMD).Through this course, we will review the psychological aspects of pain; the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to treating your patient population; and various systemic disorders that may contribute to TMD.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

• Review joint disorder, musculoskeletal disorders, and systemic diseases that may contribute to TMD conditions.
• Discuss the appropriate use of the correct tools and diagnostic aids as needed.
• Identify, treat or refer patients with TMD pain as needed.
