PLATELETS RICH PLASMA AND FIBRIN

February 13 @ 8:00 pm 11:00 pm EST

$59 3 CE credits

Course Description:

The body is constantly repairing injured areas, including tissue, bone, cartilage, vessels, and nerves. In this course, we will learn how to grow tissue and bone back in areas the body failed to do so. The key factors in this process are the platelets and their growth factors that stimulate tissue and bone to grow. We are beginning to harness this ability in dentistry, allowing revascularization of root canals instead of placing gutta percha and doing apicoectomies. We will also cover revitalizing bone and tissue in the damaged temporal mandibular joint and increasing bone thickness in the maxillary sinus for implants. We are venturing into new territory that will change how we do dentistry in the future.

After completing this course, the clinician will understand:

  1. The technique of taking the patient’s blood and producing platelet rich plasma to regenerate tissue, cartilage, and bone in the temporal mandibular joint.
  2. How to revascularize infected root canals avoiding root canals and apicoectomies.
  3. The process of bone rejuvenation in the sinus cavity, and around the teeth (periodontal pockets).
  4. How to process Platelet Rich Plasma and Fibrin from the patient’s blood.
  5. How bone can grow back in three months as opposed to nine months.
