Periodontal Plastic Surgery

The course will focus on the topic of soft tissue augmentation and periodontal plastic surgery. It is a commonly required procedure and over-treatment, or under-treatment is always a concern. The course will discuss diagnosis, indications, expectations and will present different treatment techniques and options with advantages and disadvantages.
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Classify different types of recessions and soft tissue conditions
- Understand the necessity or not of periodontal plastic surgery and soft tissue grafting
- Understand the different treatment options & the associated clinical procedures
- Discuss the difference perspective of treatment around teeth and around implants
- Understand and be able to communicate to the patient the different treatment expectations

A registration refund, less a $15 fee, will be issued for cancellations received by Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Registration will remain open, however, when registering after Tuesday, February 27, 2024, NO REFUNDS will be accepted. Cancellations must be received in email to cde@dentistry.unc.edu The cancellation request must include: the name of the course, name of the person registered, name of the person requesting the cancellation, and the reason for the cancellation.
