Oral Inflammation and its links to oral and systemic health: Novel approaches to screening and monitoring

The UNC Adams School of Dentistry in conjunction with the Association for Continuing Dental Education (ACDE), along with 37 of its member schools jointly presents the “ACDE LIVE Webinar Series”
“This series features university-based key opinion leaders presenting numerous topics on multiple dates and times. Presentations are available to meet every dental health care professional’s schedule and interests.
We will review how oral leukocytes are key clinical biomarkers of oral inflammation, the role of an oral leukocyte count as an effective screening tool for oral inflammation similar to a white blood cell count serving as a screening tool for infection, how oral inflammation impacts the systemic immune response and the future or screening for oral inflammation in the dental setting.
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Appreciate based on recent evidence the impact of oral inflammation on overall immune health
- Appreciate the importance of educating patients on the role of oral inflammation on overall health
- Appreciate the importance of being able to screen for oral inflammation in the dental setting

A registration refund, less a $15 fee, will be issued for cancellations received by Monday, January 29, 2024. Registration will remain open, however, when registering after Monday, January 29, 2024, NO REFUNDS will be accepted. Cancellations must be received in email to cde@dentistry.unc.edu The cancellation request must include: the name of the course, name of the person registered, name of the person requesting the cancellation, and the reason for the cancellation.
