Free 1 CE credit

This is a presentation of a recently introduced protocol for the treatment of peri-implant pathologies. Based on clinical and scientific data, and a book that is expected to be published by Quintessence at the beginning of 2024, a modification of the protocol known as cumulative interceptive supportive therapy (CIST) is thoroughly discussed. Clinical application of the Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) protocol plays a pivotal role in the modified CIST protocol that will be very helpful for clinicians dealing with maintenance of implant patients and treatment of peri-implantitis.

Learning objectives:

  1. To offer the clinician the necessary information about how to incorporate GBT in supportive or actual therapy of implant patients.
  2. To present scientific data about advantages and disadvantages of existing treatment modalities.
  3. To assist in the decision-making process in peri-implantitis cases.
  4. To familiarise the audience with the modified CIST protocol for the treatment of peri-implant pathologies.
